BIRMINGHAM, Ala., June 9 2021  – Immediate, a financial wellness company, today announced a new strategic partnership with The Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama to provide employees with financial wellness benefits, like earned wage access (EWA).

The Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama is a Tuscaloosa County-based pro-business advocacy organization serving more than 65,000 working men and women through more than 1,300 business enterprises, civic organizations, and educational institutions. The mission of the Chamber is to provide the leadership, vision, and catalyst for the advancement of the economic prosperity, business climate, and quality of life for the entire community.

The Chamber’s workforce development arm, West AlabamaWorks, is a network of interconnected providers of workforce development, including all the governmental, educational, and private sector components that train, prepare, and match job seekers with employers. “As a leader in workforce development and training, our mission is to promote economic prosperity throughout our region,” said Donny Jones, Chief Operating Officer of the Chamber and Executive Director of West Alabama Works. “One of the ways we continue to achieve this mission is by offering employees a selection of services that will help to increase their financial options and independence. Our new partnership with Immediate provides employees a better alternative than existing predatory lending and payday loan options.”

The new partnership combines the knowledge and strength of two Alabama-based companies that are committed to creating new and better financial opportunities for businesses and employees.

“Our goal is to improve financial wellness and eliminate cycles of debt for employees by providing faster and more convenient access to their hard-earned wages,” said Lindsey Seal, Vice President, Partnerships. “Earned wage access is essential for helping employees avoid the crippling cycles of payday loans and credit card debt. We are excited to be partnering with another Alabama-based organization that is committed to improving the quality of life for our residents.”
